Mayo 9!

As I wrote before, there was no Drupal 9 adapted version of my favorite theme "Mayo". I spent a long time experimenting with the available themes. In the end, I chose Bartik. But especially the work on transferring the website of Healing practice Ajna brought me into despair.

Homeserver also completely renewed!

And not only the VPS, but also the home server completely rebuilt... When trying to install Drupal 9 too many strange things happened, and that was the proverbial straw. After all, I had Ubuntu 20.04 installed on that server with Virtualmin on it. And Virtualmin is not guaranteed for versions of Ubuntu after 18.04. That always worked well until I started using the PHP installation more intensively, with Drupal 9. An additional problem is that I was presented with bizarre behavior, but no error message anywhere in a log file. So where should you look?

Complete restart!

That went completely wrong...

It had become for Apache, and that's not Indian, but the program that turns a server into a web server, a bit of a mess with all those virtual web servers I had defined in Virtualmin. Something can be cleaned up in that, right? Nope...

Farewell to Strato....

A year (and two days) after we embarked on the Grand Adventure of server migration, there's a moment to pause. And there is reason to look back. As of today, our subscription to a VPS at Strato has ended. Almost everything was already transferred to our new setup. And from today this also applies to the website and e-mail of Camping "de Vuurplaats". That (of course...) didn't go right the first time, but nobody made a fuss about it, and the second attempt succeeded perfectly!

A crown for our serer adventures

It's going to be a crazy Easter, with all those crowns-...sorry Corona stuff. But at the same time, I can put a crown on our server adventures. All e-mail runs smoothly on Robohost, while the websites run from a cloud server based in Germany, at Hetzner.DE. Nice setup. Only the mail and the site of Camping "de Vuurplaats" still need to be transferred. That will be a job for the Easter weekend. Everything is ready, only the domain still needs to be migrated. We close this server year with confidence...

The die is cast...

It took me several weeks to switch from Strato to Hetzner. In addition, I want to have it arranged in such a way that the registration of our (5) domains is disconnected from the actual provider so that I have more freedom in switching.

In practice, this turns out to be more difficult than expected. Creating websites with Hetzner, while the registration is still with Strato, is no problem at all. But email is complex and quite impossible.
